powerhouseknits Power House Knits was inspired by my family’s love of the outdoors and the Cascades and also to help me work through an invisible illness.

I learned to knit from my British Nana and enjoy creating beautiful knit wear for those I love.

The Christmas rush is through and I just had one wish this Christmas. It was to be in our new Packwood tiny home. I have never been so excited. Merry Christmas from me and may the new year bring you joy and light.

Everything is more fun with a few friends.

I added a few knitting notions to my shop for the holidays. These needle stoppers keep your knitting on your needles especially during travel. They fit a variety of sizes.

Yes these are Christmas themed but I plan to use my own like these all year round. I need to be merry and bright all year.

So this post contains a pics of me. I do not love being on camera and I personally don’t like it much however I have a 23 inch shorty head. That’s pretty big for a female of my height.

With that said, it’s hard sometimes to take my own advice to others and see my beauty in makeup free face. However while I may not be IG perfect in style, weight or age, I am lucky to be alive and mostly well while I enjoyed a day in the mountains in these pics. So that feels worth celebrating for me.

This hat (and one other) I am adding to my shop this evening. I hope someone lovely finds them too.

While PH Knits has been a struggle for around a year (I am still knitting though. I think it is the nature of being small business owners in a super capitalist big business America), I was surprised with a lovely gift from a company I love.

A few years ago my mom gave me a Lumos Light for Christmas. I use it all the time. Even for things beyond knitting.

The people at Lumos gifted me a newer updated one just for being a small business owner.

I am not always a matchy matchy girl. I love to mix and match things. However sometimes my instincts put together colors on similar ways. This happened with this chunky Wee Bee Gee Bee Beanie and these Wee Bee Lite Mittens I knit months later.

I truly believe that colorful things can go with everything too.

I love fall and winter because they are a reminder to me that’s it’s okay to hunker down and rest. Even leaves need time to start anew. So if you are feeling stressed or tired, remember it’s okay to just sit and take a minute to regroup.

The world needs you. Take care of yourself..

Those are my thoughts with this hat. I love the leaves on the particular tree that grew the leaves in the background and also loved the serene colors in this Wee Bee Gee Bee Beanie when I knit it. Each hat in my shop tells a story for me.

Bundle up in something beautiful because don’t we all deserve to feel like the masterpiece we were created to be!

In so many ways I am proud of this knit. I dyed the yarn all by myself. I designed the pattern because this was extra bulky yarn. I made that tag all on my only lonely.

Last that yarn Pom! 😚❤️ I am the worst at yarn poms. They are so hard but I love how this one turned out.

So ditch your dull winter beanies for this explosion of colorful perfection. I truly believe color accessories go with everything too.

Dear Santa, Bring more wine and yarn. This fall feels like a mountain to me.

I am climbing it with perseverance (that is part of my knitting brand that I knit with perseverance and love), but at this point I am so tired.

I think this disabled female teacher/small business owner needs a break right now.

Just keep knitting. 🧶

The fight isn’t over but it’s okay to rest when we need to.

Happy Halloween! Yes, that’s little me in my favorite Halloween costume ever. My mom made it for me and I loved it so much I wore it multiple times. As you can see, I’ve always been more of a Christmas girl than a spooky girl.
